The history of its origins, its development and the current Verdygo community in 2026, including a group dinner

Verdygo is an innovative design and construction philosophy for wastewater treatment plants, originally developed by the Limburg Water Board. The concept utilises modular, standardised and above-ground building blocks that are flexible, sustainable and easily adaptable. This enables water authorities to build more quickly, reduce costs, implement innovations more easily and ensure their treatment works are future-proof.

Peter van der Pijl, working alongside and on behalf of the Limburg Water Board, was instrumental in the inception of this development in 2015 and was closely involved in the initial development and implementation of the Verdygo concept. Drawing on that experience, he is uniquely placed to explain how Verdygo came into being, what lessons have been learnt along the way, and how the community has developed into the collaborative partnership it is today.

Presenter: Peter van der Pijl, Senior Consultant in Water Technologies at engineering and consultancy firm TAUW.

This event is organised by Kring Stedendriehoek in collaboration with the Hydraulic Engineering Section.

KIVI groups are small-scale communities for engineers from various disciplines, aimed at knowledge-sharing, networking and professional development

Every second Tuesday of the month (except in July and August), the engineers from the Stedendriehoek Circle meet at the Bosrestaurant Joppe. In an informal and inspiring atmosphere, they share experiences, discuss current developments and make new contacts. The diversity of disciplines and backgrounds consistently leads to valuable insights and fascinating discussions.

We’d love it if you’d join our Kring Stedendriehoek Apeldoorn-Deventer-Zutphen. New members bring fresh ideas, contacts and energy. We hope to welcome you soon!
