In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity
Description
In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) for airline passengers has been among us for decades. But developments in recent years have been exponentially rapid. For example, the "Bring your own device" model is now replacing fixed displays for IFE.
Connectivity is increasingly taken for granted by passengers. Think of email and all kinds of online content pulled in via apps. At home, on the street, on the train, we no longer want to do without it. So neither on the plane.
The lecture provides an overview of the various functions and architectures that airlines have tried out over the past decades, the advantages but certainly also the mistakes that were made. And also where we are today and what we can expect in the coming years. Both from user experience and from technology and aircraft designers and maintainers perspective
