Why are we failing to reduce the number of accidents in industry?
KIVI, the Royal Institute of Engineers, found out about two years ago that the number of workplace accidents in industry has not been falling for years. Despite all the attention paid to working safely, things keep going wrong, sometimes with fatalities. How can this be, when so many companies have been working seriously for decades to increase workplace safety? And what needs to be done to prevent the accidents that still happen? KIVI conducted research and in this interview Arend Bos, KIVI board member of the Maintenance section, talks about the results.
