Description
Dockwise Shipping B.V. is a shipping company specialising in heavy marine transport. It is based in Breda, the Netherlands. The company was formed in1993 by the merger of Wijsmuller Transport and Dock Express Shipping. Clients for heavy transport mainly come from the oil industry. For this, Dockwise mainly transports oil platforms and other large heavy objects. Dockwise also transports luxury yachts, ships, factory parts and military equipment. Dockwise has a fleet of 20 semi-submersible transport ships in open-deck, dual cargo, dock-type and yacht-carrier variants
We will be guests at Dockwise's headquarters on Friday 25 November. First there will be a general introduction about Dockwise after which special attention will be paid to safety in all transports. This will be followed by two presentations (with spectacular images) on the transport of harbour cranes from Italy to Antwerp and the transport of bridge parts from Japan to Tacoma (USA), suspended directly from the ship in the suspension bridge.
