KIVI Webinar
An ingenious online meeting between Public Clients and Market Parties in (water) construction
How do we accelerate in times of this crisis?
Webinar 1 of 3 titled:
"How the (water) construction industry is digitally making its way through this coronastorm"

Dear Sir / Madam,
We hereby cordially invite you to the first unique KIVI Webinar from a triptych on how to face the Coronastorm in our world of construction. How do we prevent the Coronastorm from breaking the economic dykes in our sector?
Medical engineers are applying all their ingenious knowledge to smart respirators; they are working overtime. But what can non-medical engineers and consultants do right now so that 40,000 construction jobs are not lost in the post-Corona era?

Mellany Doldersum takes you through how the City of Amsterdam tenders and market explorations - started in the pre-corona era - are still going ahead in the corona era. Tenders and Market Explorations that should lead to new projects. Projects that are so desperately needed by all people in construction. How does the City of Amsterdam do it? How do you still continue on your chosen path when Corona suddenly crosses your path?
Mellany's team at the City of Amsterdam is about driving innovations (innovative methods) for the programme renovation 850 bridges and 200 km of quay walls with a total investment sum of 2 billion euros.

Ralph van Roessel believes that current vital social tasks must not and need not come to a standstill as a result of drastic Corona measures.
Modern and innovative agencies like Tauw have an extensive arsenal of knowledge and resources at their disposal to properly shape consultation and coordination even in a non-physical (digital) way. By combining modern digital 'tooling' with flexibility and some good will, client and contractor together can get on with ongoing projects and societal challenges just fine. Many forms of non-physical (digital) cooperation have already proven themselves in practice in recent years. Now is the time to use this modern form of cooperation much more widely. After all, it is a social responsibility of both commissioning parties in the Netherlands and engineering firms and contractors to keep the construction sector fully functioning even in these difficult times.
Ralph is director at TAUW and thus ultimately responsible for the ups and downs of 1,200 professionals.

Your moderator is Bas Jonkman, who is a professor of hydraulic engineering at TU Delft. More water building and less water talking is his credo to further develop the Netherlands as a water country. From that role, Bas is chairman of the Department of Architecture and Hydraulic Engineering; and therefore your host and your moderator today.
