Movement in mobility
Description
Accessibility in a densely populated and built-up country like the Netherlands can no longer be taken for granted. Of all Europeans, the Dutch on average spend the longest time in traffic jams. A decline in passenger mobility is not yet in sight, so the problem will only increase. The latest trends and mobile technologies create new opportunities within mobility management that could be the solution.
A system that is self-regulating, presents choices and consequences and increases users' freedom is what the youngest generations want. No government forcing its opinion, but leaving the decision with the user. All this by providing the latest available information about the traffic network and personal travel behaviour of the person himself and of acquaintances. All this in a personal message via, for example, a smartphone.
The 'Movement in Mobility' symposium will address the changes taking place within mobility management and the change from a centrally to a decentrally controlled system. This will be done through lectures, a discussion and workshops
