Storm surge barriers

Description
Storm surge barriers are probably the most advanced hydraulic structures in existence. Due to effects of climate change, further urban development near the coast, accessibility for shipping in non-storm conditions and preservation of water quality, storm surge barriers are becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Building and hydraulic engineers will continue to find appropriate solutions to the unique technical challenges of storm surge barriers. During this evening of lectures, three speakers will show you solutions to the special challenges associated with these extraordinary works of art.
