The KIVI’s Hydraulic Engineering and Water Management & Land Use sections are organising a visit to Flood Proof Holland in Delft. During this afternoon, we will gain an insight into ongoing research into flood defences and climate adaptation.

We’ll examine various concepts for temporary flood defences and how these are being tested in practice. This will give us a good idea of the current state of the art and the considerations involved.

We’ll round off the afternoon with our feet in the clay:
👉 We’ll take on the water and build a temporary flood barrier ourselves!

Programme at a glance:

  • 14.30 Doors open
  • 15.00 Programme begins
