Fine dust; effects and solutions
Description
Particulate matter is a topic of increasing interest in the Netherlands. Despite measures for improvement, (ultra)fine dust due to traffic and industry is expected to remain a hot topic in the coming decades. After all, people's health is at stake. In June this year, the WHO found that soot from diesel exhaust causes cancer in humans.
Besides health and sustainability, there is also a business side, of course. By fighting air pollution, engineers and companies can make money. This is especially true if they respond smartly to the policy measures the government is taking or planning to take.
The meeting 'Fine dust, health effects and solutions ' aims to inform participants about the current situation, current policy and expected policy measures and opportunities to capitalise on them. The programme includes the following sections:
* air quality, what is it?
* air pollution, what is the state of play?
* policy measures, what is in place now and what is expected?
* fine dust how do we keep it out?
* business opportunities, where are opportunities for participants?
