Description

On Tuesday 13 September, Roos Drenth introduces us to the power of acting. She will show us how, by taking on a different role, we can get a better grip on our conversations at work or in our private environment.

"From acting, there are various techniques for taking on a different role, for tapping into unexplored areas in your own mind, for entering into new 'relationships' with the world around us, for redirecting or creatively circumventing resistance, fear or prejudice, in short - using all our senses - for transforming our thinking into acting.
Acting is 'speaking the truth' (instead of lying and 'pretending') as best we can. Acting is acting personally and believably in a made-up situation. Although the situation is made up, the acting (the acting) is personal and credible.

Roos shows us and experiences how we can use techniques from acting to create new options in our communicative abilities. On the basis of difficult situations that we ourselves once found ourselves in, she shows us how we can keep a grip on conversations with our boss, an employee, a colleague, a client or at home with our partner and/or
children under such circumstances."

Rest assured, the aim of this evening is not to turn us into actors, we are not going to play ourselves. If there is sufficient interest, Roos will be happy to organise a number of sessions especially for KIVI members to learn to use the power of acting themselves.

Participation is free for KIVI members and students and costs 10 Euro for guests (to be paid via iDEAL upon registration)
