Hyper-competition and monopolies
Description
Start-ups, especially technological ones, are quite often thought to be unique in the world. This is often disappointing. And if they are, adoption is a problem because the target group does not understand the benefits, or there is even resistance to change. Once production is achieved, the perspective of the entrepreneur and financier changes: revenue has to be earned quickly. In very many cases, this is a search for new markets and application areas.
It requires a balance between tightly guiding an innovation while being flexible in the search for earnings. There is only a small dividing line between monopoly of a unique product and hyper-competition.
This workshop will discuss the importance and behaviour of customers and the hunt for new market areas through three practical cases.
The workshop is part of a workshop cycle to be held between 2 and 15 April.
The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI), Department of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Dutch Association of Commissioners and Directors (NCD), YES!Delft, organises the workshop cycle " MORE VALUE IN YOUR COMPANY" for entrepreneurs.
In this workshop series, the course leaders discuss practical cases of some of the participants and exchange knowledge and experiences among themselves. Theory and practice go hand in hand in this workshop series. The methods and techniques are taught in such a way that they can be applied directly in practice. This set-up ensures that participants look at their own company in a different way and get new ideas to get more out of their business.
In the workshop cycle "MORE VALUE IN YOUR COMPANY" of KIVI, Department of Business Administration, you will learn about value, get acquainted with useful tools, and immediately apply them in your own company. You will bring in your own case study and have an immediate opportunity for feedback
Each workshop has its own theme, but is structured in the same way: Introduction to the topic
o the topic and importance of this workshop; theory, facts and figures on practice; dashboard for the evening with factors and variables
o analysis method; Three business cases brought in by the participants; pitch; case analysis with roadmap; dashboard: situation now and desired situation later; analysis, concrete solutions and steps
