Lean Product Mix

Is organisational growth going very hard and fast? Then watch out. You may even grow to pieces as a company. Central to this is the Lean Product Mix methodology of delivering as much value as possible to customers with as little hassle as possible for the internal organisation. Resulting in more room for innovation and a better operating result. Bottlenecks are also explained on the basis of various practical situations. Among others, the very successful case from Nooteboom, in which Herm was closely involved, will be discussed.

Do you recognise the following at the company where you work?

  • Why do we mainly sell what we cannot produce?
  • Why do we mainly produce what we cannot sell?
  • This is almost entirely standard, it can't be difficult!
  • But we sold this exotic at a high margin!
  • They'll fix that in production!

Then this Masterclass is definitely for you.

Herm takes us through his experiences from his working practice. Fascinating stories that show the complexity on the one hand and sometimes the simplicity of the solution on the other. He explains the Lean Product Mix theory in more detail and gives us the do's and don'ts from his experiences.

Bio Herm Verbeek MBA

after studying Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, Herm held various management positions within the manufacturing industry in the areas of product development and operations (DAF Trucks, Delem, Nooteboom Group) for many years; in parallel, he completed his MBA at TSM Business School (University of Twente). Within TNO Industry, he was responsible for the integration of all product development activities in the various institutes. As a next step, he used the knowledge and experience he gained in his independent consultancy practice. Here, he has helped various industrial companies to better align market and customer requirements, the product mix and the internal process. Here, issues like product structuring, modularisation, standardisation, CTO/ETO and margin over mix play an important role. The Lean Product Mix method grew out of these different experiences and is partly based on existing theoretical concepts. In recent years, he has also been a part-time lecturer at Fontys University of Applied Science.
