ProjectPortfolioManagement (IPMA)
Description
On 7 June next, the Activities Platform organises the Project Portfolio Management lecture with Dré Versteeg and Roelof van der Weg as speakers.
ProjectPortfolioManagement in 1,5 hours
Debunk the assumptions behind project portfolio management
When professionalising project management, setting up project portfolio management is the icing on the cake for many companies. And that is understandable when you look at the fancy words swirling around it: 'portfolio management turns the organisation's strategy into action' or 'portfolio management ensures you do the right projects' or portfolio management ensures alignment between projects and available capacity and money'. Who wouldn't want that?
Yet you quite often see that introducing portfolio management goes differently than desired. As a portfolio manager, you then have to pull out all the stops to get the intended changes (back) in the right direction.
We think that with a better understanding of the underlying assumptions around portfolio management, you will be better prepared for unexpected developments along the way.
In our lecture, we will give a bird's-eye view of the field and thus expose the foundation of portfolio management. At first glance, this seems completely OK, but if you look at it a little more critically, you will discover that the foundation is not a concrete structure but a sand sculpture. Something you have to be extremely careful with in order to reap the benefits. And let that be cherries.
Hope to see you on 7 June!
