Royal Mosa (since 1883) is an innovative manufacturer of high-quality ceramic products. Mosa is perceived in the market as highly innovative and leading in design. The wall and floor tile factories in Maastricht produce using the most modern technologies and are specially designed for flexibility and quality. Mosa is the only tile manufacturer to produce its entire collection sustainably in the Netherlands.
Cradle to Cradle® and Mosa
For Mosa, sustainability is an important spearhead in its mission and principles. C2C® is an innovative, positive and integral approach to sustainability, which is not based on reduction, but on unlimited reuse of raw materials: 'waste is food'. This fits Mosa very well.
After a three-year development process, almost the entire Mosa product range was awarded the C2C® Silver certificate in December 2010. Five main criteria were assessed: raw materials, recycling potential, energy consumption, water management and labour conditions. This made Mosa the first ceramic tile factory in the world to be C2C® certified. Mosa sees C2C® as a motivation for innovation in the development of ceramic systems. During this visit, you will not only gain insight into the do's and dont's of Mosa's journey, but you will also be invited to help think about the route to C2C® Platinum.
