Description

Management cockpits, spreadsheets, planning, targets, efficiency..... the world of control is based on concepts, models, rules and plans. A model of reality to control it predictably top down. And yet the quality of products, organisations and of the work of the people who make their living in them is often not up to scratch.

Where has (the attention to) craftsmanship gone? Who really solves my question as a customer? Are we ourselves still proud of what we have done today? Shareholder satisfaction rules! To what extent do customers and employees still have a say?

The Anglo-Saxon-based design of organisations and management has a new opponent: slow management.
Slow here does not stand for slow, but for sustainable, following the example of slow food. It is based on the Rhineland model of thought, of which French economist Michel Albert is the founder (1991).

Jaap Peters (DeLimes, co-author of De Intensieve Menshouderij, lecturer Nijenrode and U-Wageningen) has studied it and been inspired by it. We have found him willing, to take us on a fascinating thought adventure. He draws parallels with American Football and with the Matrix and presents you with a choice: blue or red pill. It is high time for Quality Time of management, professionalism and organisation. Make sure you're there!

This lecture is organised from a partnership between KIVI NIRIA BK/East and TSM Business School.
