Description
KIVI NIRIA Region The Hague, in cooperation with The Hague University of Applied Sciences, is organising the activity "Sustainable heat and cold in acceleration" on Wednesday 23 March 2011 at the HHS, location Delft, Rotterdamseweg 137, 2628 AL Delft.
Prior to the lecture, the general meeting of members of the The Hague Region will take place.
The lecture will be given by Mr Klaas de Jong, Stichting Warmtenetwerk. After the lecture, there will be room for discussion and questions. The evening will end with networking, drinks & refreshments.
Klaas de Jong is director of Energieprojecten.com, an agency working on knowledge transfer in the field of sustainable energy and energy saving. He also works as a technology advisor for Essent Local Energy Solutions and for the Warmtenetwerk foundation.
Last year, he published the book 'Warmte in Nederland', published by Maurits Groen Media.
The Warmtenetwerk foundation is a broad-based platform, which aims to reduce the use of fossil energy and greenhouse gas emissions by promoting collective heat and cold networks.
Through a pipeline system, all kinds of sustainable heat and cold such as solar, biogas, geothermal, wood and water can be effectively deployed. Also, through the same pipelines, residual heat from industry, waste incinerators, cogeneration plants and others can be deployed. The Warmtenetwerk foundation wants to stimulate innovative combinations in the Netherlands and Flanders and promote the exchange of knowledge with organisations elsewhere in Europe.
The book Warmte in Nederland was presented by author Klaas de Jong to Eric Eijkelberg, deputy director of energy and sustainability at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture & Innovation (EL&I), on 13 October 2010 during the Warmtenetwerk Annual Meeting. On 2 November, the board of Warmtenetwerk presented the book to Boris van der Ham as chairman of the permanent parliamentary committee for EL&I
