EvoSwitch's data centre is three storeys high, with reinforced concrete as the base of the building. For security, only the office areas have windows. The data centre currently covers over 10,000 m2, with the possibility of expanding to 40,000 m2.

From EvoSwitch data hall 5 onwards, they use separate modular data centre suites. Such an environment has an extremely low PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of less than 1.2, its own power supply and advanced cooling infrastructure. Each suite consists of 32 racks with a scalable commitment of 160 kW.

With redundant network capacity and disaster recovery rooms, EvoSwitch offers the ideal location for maximum continuity in emergency situations. It also provides office space for customers to work as close as possible to their business-critical IT systems. Furthermore, EvoSwitch offers several secure, private storage rooms next to (or even in) the offices themselves.

Evoswitch was further nominated for 'Most socially responsible ICT company of the year'

Introduction

From my experience, the start of the visit was already quite impressive if you don't visit pretty secure premises on a daily basis. The double gate that had power on it, a ton of cameras and in the hall the revolving doors for only 1 person at a time were just a barrier we were allowed to cross under escort that evening.

We started from the boardroom with an introduction by Mark Karsch (Marketing and PR Executive) who introduced the people of Evoswitch and told a few things about Evoswitch. After this, Ronald van Muijden (Global Business Development Manager) took the floor. He explained the different halls and customers who had rented server space at Evoswitch.

There was also room for questions, which was certainly needed, as there were plenty of them. Both fairly technical questions were raised, but also certainly business-related ones.
Tour
The tour is difficult to describe. That is why this report includes several images and a video with the people who showed us around (which is nice). So experience it for yourself and watch the film!

Description

A tour of the data centre will be given. There will also be an explanation of why Evoswitch has made the choice to go "green" and, of course, that they have been nominated for "Most Socially Responsible ICT Company of the Year".

To gain access to the building, it is important that you have a passport or driving licence with you.
