KIVI NIRIA Department of Business Administration is organising an excursion to ABN AMRO on 5 October 2010 on the theme "Financial crisis: lessons to learn". Several economists from ABN AMRO will give an overview of developments in the market and ABN AMRO's view on them. At the end of the lectures, participants will have the opportunity to enter into discussion with the speakers.
Issues to be discussed will include: the risk of a continuation of the credit crisis; the role of the bank in the economic crisis; the imminent changes in supervision; the future of banks in the Netherlands and Europe; the stress test of European banks, its transparency, and reactions to the results; similarities and differences of the financial systems in Europe, the US and China, and their advantages and disadvantages; the ins and outs of ABN AMRO as a bank of the state, and the integration of Fortis Netherlands.
