The lecture is about Do It Yourself and Mobile developments.
How can companies use the "blessings" of Google, Amazon, Salesforce.com and other innovative start-up companies at lightning speed with minimal effort and cost? How does it exist that there are firms with an IT department of 20 people generating 1/3 of internet traffic in the USA for more than 35 million customers? How do these firms operate from "the cloud", Various real-life examples will be given. The second part of the lecture presents a selection of developments from the Mobile World congress held in February.
These include developments in SIM card-based Machine too Machine (M2M) communication, which will soon reach us in carœ, energy meters, coffee makers, boilers and many other devices.
The central question is how can companies make use of these developments to speed up their own business processes and make them cheaper.
Innovations in security and femtocells are also touched upon.
