Description

-- The VAR is dead, long live the DBA --
Much has been written and discussed about it, the VAR declaration is no more. As of 1 May 2016, the tax authorities use different criteria to assess the fiscal employment relationship between self-employed entrepreneurs without staff and clients. The VAR has been replaced by the Deregulation of Assessment of Labour Relations Act (DBA).

-- Better protected? --
As an independent entrepreneur without personnel, you no longer need to apply for VAR, you simply enter into a model contract. Whereas previously the risk lay with the ZZP-er, part of this responsibility has now shifted to the client in case of a 'disguised' employment contract. In the eyes of the government, the DBA Act should prevent false security.

-- We can't make it any nicer for you --
According to the instructions from the tax authorities, the ZZP-er should 'consider' together with the client whether a model agreement is necessary. According to the tax authority's site, in many cases it is clear that a ZZP-er is not an employee. Only in case of doubt is it advised to agree on such a model agreement. But it is not compulsory. Then 'the parties' are supposed to look for a model agreement that suits the way the ZZP-er and the client want to work with each other.

-- Easier though? --
Download, choose, match and done. A child can do the laundry. But is it really that easy? There are still a lot of uncertainties, leaving many questions for both ZZP-ers and clients. What risks do you run as a ZZP-er? What risks do you run if the client does not fulfil his part of the agreement? Or what happens if the client does not get its act together? Which elements are important? What is my role as an entrepreneur? What should you do to continue working as a ZZP-er within the DBA Act? These and other questions will be discussed in detail during the interactive session offered by Yacht and KIVI.

-- For whom? --
This interactive workshop is meant for ZZP-ers and for clients who wonder what the Deregulation of Assessment of Employment Relationships (DBA) means for them. Professionals who want to prepare for the model agreements and are looking for knowledge and practical information.
