Michel van Kats, Content creator and Online specialist at PR and communications agency LVTPR, gave an inspiring lecture on online findability on Tuesday 31 March. This lecture was organised in response to ZZP survey held among the 1140 self-employed professionals within KIVI.

Despite the weather warnings, attendance was high. The 20 participants were warmly received on the top floor of LVTPR headquarters in Bunnik. While enjoying tasty sandwiches, they got to know each other. After a brief introduction by KIVI CI CI board member Stache Banks, the floor was given to Michel van Kats.

In a 3-hour fascinating interactive presentation, participants were initiated into the world of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), content marketing, the use of social media and Search Engine Advertising (SEA). Terms like Spiders, KeyWords, conversion rates and tools like Google keyword planner, trends, analytics were explained. All kinds of tips & tricks to increase the findability of your website and thus the chances of potential clients and customers. Good and original content proves essential in this respect. During the drinks, there was a lot of talk about websites and social media. Knowledge, tips, experience and cards were exchanged. A number of participants concluded that they still needed to improve the findability of their websites.

The evaluation forms show that this lecture was highly appreciated with the request to organise another one. Meanwhile, the presentation has been made available digitally and SEO/SEA lecture is scheduled for 28 May at LVTPR in Bunnik.

The board of the Commercial Engineering Department thanks the participants for attending the lecture and, of course, Michel van Kats for hosting the workshop.

Description

The Commercial Engineering Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers invites you, as a ZZP'er, to the interactive knowledge session "SEO/SEA: how do you use it for a better findable website?"

As a result of the survey, which was conducted among KIVI ZZP'ers, KIVI Commercial Engineering intends (if there is sufficient interest) to organise four network meetings per year, with a speaker. The next network meeting will be in June!

This lecture is specifically intended for ZZP'ers. For non-ZZP'ers, this lecture will be held on 28 May!!!

The knowledge session
You know it all too well: bringing in new customers is and remains a challenge. An increasingly important tool for this is your website. Only: no matter how good your site looks, if nobody visits it, you are missing many opportunities. Perhaps the most important condition for increased site traffic is optimal findability in the Google search engine. For instance, did you know that as many as 98 per cent of Dutch people go to Google first when they are orientating on buying a product or service? In other words: your target audience is searching, also for you.

On Tuesday 31 March 2015, search engine expert Michel van Kats of Contentbureau.nl will give you an insight into the wonderful world of online findability from 18:30. How do you make sure your website is found by the companies you want? What is the role of text on your website and how do you arrive at the optimal SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy? And when and how do you deploy SEA (Search Engine Advertising)? It is an interactive session, so you will have plenty of room to ask questions. You will 'find' this knowledge session at the Contentbureau.nl office at Veilingweg 5 in Bunnik. Of course, we will be happy to conclude with drinks, where you can ask specific questions about your website. Do you have any questions beforehand? Then e-mail them to props@lvtgroup.com

18.30 - 19.00 Walk-in (with coffee, tea and sandwiches)
19.00 - 21.00 SEO/SEA: how to use it for a better findable website
21.00 - 22.00 Drinks
