Description

3D printing is all over the media. Many companies and organisations have already shown interest in the possibilities of that phenomenon. Despite the low knowledge of 3D printing prevalent in the business world today, the technology has the potential to grow into a unique production method that will make its mark on design and manufacturing processes in every part of the economy.

In addition to existing production methods, additive manufacturing (AM) will gain a permanent place within the production cycle. Regardless, the initial investments for industrial 3D printing are too high, while developments in materials, software and the technology itself continue at high speed, probably often too fast to follow.

The level of knowledge about 3D printing in the majority of organisations is very low. Despite this, companies want to get in. What is the right angle? Where to start? Who should they partner with? Which software, which technology and which products. But above all: how to find the right business case?
