Description

Setting frameworks for the design of the organisation and its information provision is important. It creates clarity and prevents endless and useless discussions. In addition, it ensures that important risks are avoided.
Architecture principles are the architect's tool for arriving at an initial framework. They lay down the most important principles and are thus a basis for more specific guidelines and designs. Architecture principles are the cornerstone of architecture; drafting them is therefore a core skill of architects.

This presentation will discuss architecture principles and their role within enterprise architecture. Based on a generic process, it also highlights the different steps relevant when developing and applying architecture principles. Finally, a collection of example principles is also presented to give the listener a better idea of what exactly architecture principles are.
