Description
ASTRON is the Dutch Institute for Radio Astronomy.
ASTRON's goal is to develop and apply techniques to enable discoveries through Radio Astronomy.
To this end, ASTRON has a highly advanced R&D Department where new observing techniques such as recently for the LOFAR (Low Frequency Array) telescope in north-western Europe and now the SKA (Square Kilometer Array) telescope in Australia and South Africa are being developed.
