Bi- and Multi Modal IT
Description
In cooperation with the KNVI SIG Governance, the following is offered to you as a KIVI Informatics member.
The mini-seminar/workshop Multi-modal IT is the second event in a series on the challenges and solutions in the governance of large projects and programmes.
The first meeting addressed the initial phase of projects. Several governance issues were then identified that many organisations struggle with. As a follow-up to the first mini-seminar, a survey was conducted among participants. With the aim of determining which governance issue to scrutinise for the implementation phase of programmes and projects.
We now turn to the topic of Bi-Modal, which scored highest in the survey:
- What is Bi-modal, Multi-modal?
- Why is it important?
- Projects versus Gartner's Bi Modal concept / Multi-modal: how can we govern more diverse projects?
- How do you go about it?
Miniseminar
The KNVI's SIG Governance (formerly Ngi-NGN) and the NAF's IT Governance working group jointly organise a mini-seminar several times a year around a topical theme within the field of (IT) governance. During the preparations for this event, KNVI region Utrecht and KIVI Informatica cooperate.
Mini-seminars are short seminars at the end of the working day and consist of several presentations and/or workshops. The theme of the upcoming mini-seminar is:
Multi-modal IT
In recent years, IT projects at government and semi-public institutions such as the UWV and the SVB have been in the news in a negative way. Newspaper articles and television reports on large losses on failed projects and various problems with suppliers in large tenders. The Elias Committee conducted a parliamentary enquiry, but many doubt whether the recommendations will lead to sufficient improvements. Some even speak of "old wine in new bottles". What is true of such qualifications? Has paying attention to this issue led to substantial change, or is the underlying problem tough and persistent?
In a series of mini-seminars, we will highlight the question of how to deal with this from different angles addressing both the issues and solution directions. In short, how do we steer large projects and programmes, both in the private and public sector. This will include the "soft" governance issues such as behaviour, trust and culture as well as the "harder" governance issues such as control, transparency and keeping the system in balance.
Members of KIVI Informatics are also welcome. It suffices if one registers as an associate mentioning Robert Bierwolf. Since there are physical limitations on the number of people who can participate in the workshops, you should of course register as soon as possible. For the same reason, it is of course neat to also cancel in good time should you unexpectedly be unable to attend.
