A full house, a great presentation, many questions from the audience and a lively discussion during the drinks characterised the Blockchain for Engineers event on 13 November.
The sheets of the presentation can be found under Documents.

Blockchain, the pioneering technology behind bitcoin, can also have revolutionary implications for financial transactions, data security and information integrity in an organisation, among other things. Blockchain technology can make many centralised registries and databases more user-friendly, cheaper and faster. It is already being said that blockchain is the biggest innovation since the internet. Blockchain is already currently used in finance, logistics, energy companies and healthcare. But how exactly does it work? How did it originate and what can I do with it myself? Questions that will arise for many will be explained at this meeting.

Speaker(s)

The session will be delivered by Morrison Toussaint, blockchain specialist and consultant at Cyber4Z; an IT consulting organisation with a strong focus on cybersecurity. They have various specialisations in strategic and tactical design of cybersecurity, IT, Privacy and Blockchain technology. Tako Johannesma, founder of OmniLegal, will give an example of a service built for KIVI members using blockchain.
Sonja Boelhouwer, from IMF Academy, will give a brief overview of blockchain training courses available for engineers.
