Changing role of the Project Manager
Description
On 2 November next, the 32nd edition of the IPMA Annual Conference will take place with the theme: Projectification of Societies: the Changing Role of the Project Manager. In a changing world, the field of project management appears to be constantly expanding and becoming more complex. On the other hand, the function of project manager is under discussion: will it become redundant in an agile world and with self-managing teams? In any case, the interpretation of the function will change: instead of directing and controlling, there will be an emphasis on facilitating and communicating. This is why adaptive project management is important: how do you stay agile, what competences are important for this? And how does all this relate to the pursuit of Better Projects for a Better World?
Practical and interactive parallel sessions
During the parallel sessions, special attention will be paid to Practical Cases (Good Practices), Expert Sessions (Better Practices) and the connection between science and practice (Next Practices). The following organisations will contribute: UWV, KLM, TU Eindhoven, TomTom, ASML, Brain Preparers, TU Delft and more. With topics as diverse as: characteristics of an adaptive project manager, from project to release, how to become a successful Agile Leader? The makeable project manager: a matter of Mindset!?, digital transformation in your organisation? And: becoming Agile without noticing it.

The IPMA Jaarcongres is intended for all project professionals in the Netherlands. Project, programme and portfolio managers, clients, consultants, researchers, educators and trainers.
