Debate IT and education
Below are some photos from the 'Debate IT and education' activity.
Description
In 2018, KIVI is organising a number of debates on IT. On 16 January was the 'Artificial Intelligence' debate and on 15 February the 'IT and Education' debate. The debates are about where technology has a major social impact and is also relevant to all engineering disciplines.
During the 'IT and Education' debate on 15 February 2018, various propositions will be presented to the panel and after the debate, participants from the audience will also be able to join the discussion and/or ask questions.
We would like to enter into the discussion with students, teachers, administrators and the business community about developments in IT education. How do you teach students programming and are there gender differences? Why is course turnover so high? The current generation of students has grown up with the iPad, what impact does that have? What are the IT skills of the average student and what about soft skills? How is the connection with the job market? Don't you learn much more from working at a startup? What do employers think of IT education?
