Lab visit TU Eindhoven!
Description
Mobility is the KIVI NIRIA Annual Theme of 2013. Naturally, we can pay a lot of attention to it from a computer science perspective.
Informatics is a spider in the web in developments to make devices communicate smartly with each other.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to join us on two lab visits with mobility as the central theme, where we will look at developments in the field of smart energy technology and automotive engineering.
For example, in the automotive lab we will see an electrically converted Lupo that can be accurately compared to the diesel version that is also present. We will also get to see the football robots that win many (world) championships and play a central role in the development of healthcare robots and self-driving cars. A story on 'Truck', which can automatically follow other vehicles (road trains, potential for more trucks behind 1 driver). We will end with the long-term vision of self-driving.
Will you come?
Programme:
17:30 - 18:00 reception (with a sandwich)
18:00 - 19:00 guided tour: lab of El olv Elena Lomonova.
This lab will cover active damping of a car, inductive charging and vehicle-to-grid solutions.
19:00 - 20:00 guided tour of the automotive lab. Probably Erwin Meinders and Igo Besseling will guide us through the automotive lab. Possibly Maarten Steinbuch will drop by anyway so that burning questions can be asked him. However, we also want to give other engineers a chance to tell the story.
20:00 - 20:30 networking drinks (1 consumption included).
