Copenhagen Trip: 8 to 11 May 2019
Description
Copenhagen developments
Copenhagen not only has a deserved reputation for design, but is also developing. The Construction Department is organising a sneak peek that you can extend yourself with a tourist and/or architectural visit. Copenhagen can be easily reached by several airlines from the airports in Eelde, Eindhoven and Amsterdam and by train.
Orestad
The ultra-modern and environmentally friendly Orestad is due for completion in 2030. The basic plan for the 3.1 km2 area dates back to the 1990s and was adapted by Daniel Libeskind. The district houses the spectacular designs of Jean Nouvel's Konzerthuset, 3XN's Bella Sy Copenhagen and Bjarke Ingels' VM-bjerget and VM-husene residential projects, among others. A guided tour is more than worthwhile.
Louisiana
The Louisiana is one of the world's leading art museums. The focus of the art collection is on the Cobra group and then pop art and video art to contemporary can. Picasso, Polke, Lichtenstein, Warhol, Oldenburg, Miró and Moore are not missing. A guided tour also takes place here.
Designmuseum
The design museum is Denmark's largest museum of Danish and international design. The permanent collection offers an overview of 20th-century Danish design and applied art, with works by Arne Jacobsen and others. Here, too, we are given a guided tour.
