Self-building is popular. Certainly also in the form of Collective Private Ownership (CPO). However, relatively many initiatives fail, especially for larger groups and/or apartment complexes. Then the chance of success for a CPO initiative seems low.
But it can be done! The senior citizens' project Aquaradius in Hoofddorp proves it. Aquaradius with 57 flats and a parking basement is one of the largest initiatives in this field in the Netherlands, built by Ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed Rijssen. Ir. Johan Riezebos will elaborate on the opportunities and risks of a CPO and how to make it a success. This will address the question of how to get CPO'ers on the same page and the questions CPO'ers have. During the workshop, bottlenecks such as obtaining land and guaranteeing completion of the flat will be discussed, as well as how to organise a backstop for unsold houses or flats. And how to arrange pre-financing, for example.
The aim of the workshop is also to clarify interactively what skills are needed for future construction professionals who will have to deal with (housing) construction projects. Students can register via the website of the Bouwkunde Bedrijvendagen.

Bouwkunde Bedrijvendagen TUE 17 and 18 November
The Bouwkunde Bedrijvendagen for students at the TUE are coming up again. 10, 17 and 18 November will be all about "Meet your opportunities!".
10 November training sessions will take place provided by Careerbus, Werkmans and Flexurance. The trainings focus on developing soft-skills, such as non-verbal communication. 17 November construction companies are hosting workshops. More information can be found online and there is an opportunity to register. It will conclude with the company market on 18 November. The day when you can orientate yourself on the business sector, work field and subsequent master's directions. This year, KIVI Bouw will be present on both 17 and 18 November.
