Description

The DCMR watches over the safety of the area, together with partners from the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Safety Region. Chemical consultants and the Control Room support and advise on environmental incidents day and night. Citizens and businesses can contact the DCMR Control Room 24 hours a day, seven days a week with reports of environmental nuisance (e.g. odour, dust or noise). If there are several reports about the same nuisance, the turn-out service can be deployed. The call-out service conducts an on-site investigation to trace the cause and remove the source of the complaints.

The DCMR has been carrying out statutory environmental tasks for the 16 municipalities in the Rijnmond area (including Rotterdam) and the province of South Holland for more than 35 years. The DCMR grants permits and inspects the region's approximately 23,000 companies.

The DCMR also has an important role in regional Incident Response. Due to the presence of large-scale industrial complexes in Europe's largest port, the likelihood of incidents with effects on the surrounding area is relatively high. Coordinated action by the operational services in incident response is therefore of great importance.

Parking: at 10 minutes' walking distance you can park at the large car park (parallel road) behind Schiedam Centrum station. In the immediate vicinity of the DCMR you can pay for parking (Delflandseweg). In the (small) parking garage of the DCMR itself, space is scarce and we cannot accommodate
