In February 2020, Defence and shipbuilder Damen signed the contract for the construction and delivery of the so-called Combat Support Ship (CSS), known as Sr.Ms Den Helder after commissioning. This ship is intended to supply other naval vessels at sea and must meet military requirements in order to withstand various events that may occur in dangerous territory.

CSS project leader at the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) Glijn van Marion will take participants through the process of designing and building this new naval ship during the webinar. Which new technologies are chosen, which partners are involved, how are policy, technology development and proven design combined?

A concrete example of naval new construction with, of course, the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.
