On 29 November 2013, on the occasion of its 65th anniversary and in the year in which the Royal Netherlands Air Force celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Royal Netherlands Air Force Association "Onze Luchtmacht" (KNVOL) is organising a symposium on the challenges to which the Dutch armed forces i.c. the Royal Netherlands Air Force sees itself exposed in the near future. To this end, the organising committee has invited a number of top speakers from home and abroad to explain their views on the central theme: "Against the background of the emerging security environment and shifts in transatlantic relations, this conference explores the relevance of recent developments in and experiences with air power, the potential of future air power, as well as the challenges European air forces face, from an strategic, operational, industrial and technological point of view."
