European defence cooperation: common procurement
Joint seminar by Eurodefense and KIVI DV on current developments in the field of common European defence equipment procurement (Common Procurement)
European equipment cooperation for Defence has been a political desire for many years, the realisation of which has often been hampered by national and industry interests. With defence budgets rising sharply across Europe and the urgency heightened by the war in Ukraine, various initiatives are coming to fruition. From procurement through another country's contract, to joint procurement of munitions by EDA. The European Commission is also working on concrete instruments, such as EDIP and EDIDP and a task force on joint procurement.
During this seminar, we will juxtapose a number of plans and possibilities to learn from and hold them against the viewpoint of the Eurodefense working group EWG27.
