On 9 March, TUDelft students will have the opportunity to board the air defence and command frigate Zr.Ms. Tromp.

As the type suggests, the air defence and command frigate (LCF) has 2 main functions: air defence and command. The defence function means that it must be able to protect a fleet force as a whole. The command function means that the ship can take a complete operational staff on board. The commander of this staff is then in charge of several ships; a squadron or fleet alliance. On the bow is the frigate's NATO designation: F803.

Attire: as the tour takes place in a shipyard, and on board a ship under maintenance, please wear sturdy shoes (preferably safety shoes) and long sleeves/jeans (due to fire safety). We will provide you with a helmet.

On March 9, students from Delft University of Technology will have the opportunity to board the air defence and command frigate HNLMS Tromp.

As the type indicates, the air defence and command frigate (LCF) has two main functions: air defence and command and control. The defence function means it must be able to protect a fleet as a whole. The command function means the ship can embark a complete operational staff. The commander of this staff then commands multiple ships; a squadron or fleet. The frigate's NATO designation: F803 is displayed on the bow.

Dress code: Since the tour takes place at a shipyard and on board a ship undergoing maintenance, please wear sturdy shoes (safety shoes are preferred) and long sleeves/jeans (for fire safety). We will provide you with a helmet.
