Description

For several years now, Chinese Huawei has been active in the Dutch telecommunications market. A well-known customer of Huawei is KPN. As a consumer, you can also buy, for example, mobile phones and Mifi (3G to WIFI) modems from this brand. For communications specialists, Huawei has a reputation for offering routers and switches as a counterpart to Cisco equipment.

Nevertheless, Huawei is an unknown to many of us. Therefore, it seems appropriate to give it our full attention for an evening.

About Huawei:
Telecom and network provider Huawei was founded in 1987 in the town of Shenzhen, China, near Hong Kong. Through a network of partners, Huawei provides ICT solutions to carriers, business and residential markets in more than 140 countries, worth a total of US$28 billion in 2010 (unaudited). Originally, Huawei manufactures equipment and supplies complete networks for the telecoms market. Over the next 10 years, Huawei will evolve from a communications technology supplier to an ICT technology supplier, and the enterprise segment is the most important for this strategic development.

Huawei's innovation strength is focused on translating the knowledge from the carrier market in the areas of energy saving (sustainability), high availability, performance (performance), standardisation and cost saving into products for business and government. The Huawei Enterprise portfolio consists of three categories: IP solutions (routers, switches, transmission, CCTV, VDI and cloud), communication technology products (Unified Communications, TelePresence, Video Conferencing, IP telephony and IPCC) and IT solutions (servers and storage).
