The Joint Logistic Support Ship (JSS) is being built to expand the expeditionary continuation capability of the Dutch armed forces. The Royal Navy's future largest ship will be suitable for three main tasks: Supply At Sea of maritime units, Strategic Sea Transport and Sea Basing, supporting land operations from the sea. The design involves a ship with a water displacement of about 28,000 tonnes, an electrical power of about 25 MW and a length of almost 205 metres. The ship is capable of carrying various types of fuel, ammunition, containers and all types of vehicles and helicopters within Defence; it can transport around 5,000 tonnes of heavy rolling (armoured) equipment. The JSS will be able to not only unload its cargo in a port, but also be capable of shuttling cargo to the coast in a Sea Basing scenario, using landing craft such as LCUs, LCVPs and transport helicopters such as Chinook's and Cougar's.

In a joint themed evening by the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS), the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN), the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) and KIVI-NIRIA Department for Defence and Safety, the project and the technology will be widely discussed in theory and in practice. The theme evening will be concluded with drinks, offered by KIVI-NIRIA.

The hall will be open from 18:00.
On payment of €16.50, you can enjoy a bread meal from 17:30. Due to ordering in advance from KIVI NIRIA, you must give notice and pay in advance.
