Description

On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the Netherlands Aeronautical Engineering Association (NVvL), in cooperation with the Defence Helicopter Command (DHC), is organising a symposium on various important aspects of the development and certification of the NH90.

Members of KIVI NIRIA are invited to attend this NVvL symposium.

The NH90 is a unique example of European cooperation at
the field of joint specification and production of a
new defence helicopter, in which the Dutch government and
industry have participated constructively from the beginning.

The aim of participating in the NH90 project in 1990 was to acquire an
optimally deployable helicopter for the Dutch armed forces
and to maximise the involvement of Dutch industry
in the development and series production of this high-quality product.
This was to increase the competitiveness of the Dutch
industry and to maintain high-quality jobs and
knowledge to be able to deploy the new helicopter as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Through this participation, the Dutch Ministry of Defence was able to contribute its specific
operational requirements.
To meet the requirements formulated by the various
international armed forces, the NH90 is equipped with new technology including
in the field of fly-by-wire control and by applying
advanced composites in the entire fuselage construction. This
allows controllability to be tailored to the
flight task to be performed and weight to be reduced
