Robotics for Emergency Services
Description
Robots are coming. There are unmanned systems operating in every field, from the well-known EODD robots to explore and defuse explosives to the underwater robots to carry out work offshore.
Civilian emergency services are still lagging behind these developments. To familiarise field colleagues with the (im)possibilities of unmanned operations. To realise this, a mini-symposium on Robotics for Emergency Services will be organised at BOCAS on 16 June 2016.
Together with suppliers and some technical Universities, we will also try to determine where the needs are now. We will do this with a number of case studies involving unmanned deployment and workshop sessions in which suppliers, knowledge centres and users will together try to determine the central need.
