Maritime sector agenda, nuclear project
If the Netherlands wants to remain independent, safe and prosperous, we must solve the great challenges of our time together. As a water-rich country by the sea, ships are indispensable in this respect. We cannot afford to become dependent on foreign countries for design, construction and maintenance. Our maritime manufacturing industry is of great strategic value. Strengthening this sector requires a more active industrial policy. The Maritime Manufacturing Industry Sector Agenda therefore identifies five so-called Leader Projects:
1. The Maritime Masterplan.
2. The Shipyard of the Future.
3. Smart Maritime.
4. Robotised wind at sea.
5. Nuclear propulsion of ships.
The mini-symposium will discuss the Maritime Manufacturing Sector Agenda in general and frontrunner project 5 (nuclear) in particular. This project explores how the benefits of nuclear energy can be exploited for sustainably sailing ships with permanent energy supply.
The luxury sandwiches are sponsored by KIVI and the IMarEST. The TD CZSK task force is keeping the Maritime Engineering students from TU-Delft free. We therefore do not ask for a contribution of our own.
