Smart Clothing System - the military and medical role of sensors in clothing
Sensors are now widely used for Smart Maintenance and Smart Factories, among other things. But who is familiar with Smart Clothing? This is workwear made of an advanced textile with special properties. For example, woven-in sensors that 'monitor' personal, medical as well as environmental conditions, dynamic compression properties and exoskeleton functionality. In doing so, this modular, adaptive and flexible clothing makes a valuable contribution to the themes of safety and comfort. Themes that concern military personnel as well as all emergency workers but also people in industry (offshore, maintenance etc.).
Ogul Kirvanc Arseven of ISKO talks about the technical solutions the company has developed in recent years to achieve the desired features and shows some examples of applications that have now been tested and put into use.
The Smart Clothing System was nominated for the Defence Innovation Competition 2020.
