The Integrated Mast is Thales Netherlands' latest development for modern naval vessels.
The mast is groundbreakingly innovative in several ways.

Topside Design is the optimal design and localisation of all sensor, communication and weapon systems on board a naval vessel. The number of systems to be integrated is getting bigger and bigger, making integrated topside design an increasingly tough job. The integrated mast can be seen as the ultimate solution to many of these problems, as it optimally integrates many communication, sensor and other equipment. From layer-range radar to navigation lights.

In addition, the integrated mast makes it possible to build an advanced naval ship extremely quickly. The mast is built and integrated parallel to the ship and can be installed as a 'plug-and-play' module in a minimum of time. This saves months of work and therefore a lot of money.
The systems in the mast are otherwise almost all innovative. Among other things, this makes it possible to sail with a minimum crew, partly because maintenance becomes less frequently necessary and easier.

The integrated mast is called a groundbreaking innovation for good reason, and this visit to Thales Hengelo will explain in detail exactly where this lies and how the mast was created in close cooperation between Defence, knowledge institutes and Thales Netherlands.
