New European Council policy plans will change the role of the defence industry in technology, development and innovation. Stronger European focus and more ownership. Less dependent on the country where the company is based.
The changed security situation in Europe, new policies in the European Council's Strategic Compass and several other recent policies are giving direction to a new way of working together in Europe. This also has implications for the technology sector and industry. On 18 May 2022, KIVI Defence and Security chairman Jan Wind gave a keynote on this subject at a NATO conference in Brussels.
