The Defence and Security Department's Politics and Engineering Working Group analyses current political developments in the defence sector. It provides independent facts and interpretation from the technological knowledge and experience of engineers.
On 25 November 2022, the Secretary of State for Defence published the Defence Space Agenda.
Our Working Group on Politics and Defence Engineering presented questions on this document to the Standing Committee on Defence in the House of Representatives.
The working group's questions and comments can be found via this link.
The main question is why national capabilities are mostly used when this focus area lends itself perfectly to European cooperation. But there are also comments on the various details of the Defence Space Agenda. These include (1) satellite-independent pulsar navigation, (2) paying for use at LUXGOVSAT and (3) European scientific cooperation
