The Politics and DV Engineering working group analyses current political developments in the defence sector. It provides independent facts and interpretation from the technological knowledge and experience of engineers.

The Politics and DV Engineering working group has questions and comments on the Defence Vision 2035, published by the Minister of Defence on 15 October 2020. The comments have been prepared based on publicly available information and defence technology knowledge and experience.

The working group particularly welcomes this vision document, which for the first time in a very long time identifies what is necessary to defend the security of our country. With allies and, where necessary, independently. The political choice here is a high-tech and labour-extensive armed force with a strong innovative capacity. This is fully in line with the advice we have given to the Lower House in recent years. The same applies to many other choices set out in this vision document.

Despite this positive reception, the working group does still have some questions. These can be read and downloaded here.
