The Defence and Security Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI DV) has awarded an annual prize to the best graduate student in a Defence or Security Technology relevant field at a university or college of higher education since 2000.
The €1000 cash prize is named after Prof Johan Kooy, an internationally renowned professor of missile technology in the last century. He taught at the Royal Military Academy in Breda and Delft University of Technology. The award will be presented on Wednesday 12 April 2017 during the annual Kooy symposium. Again this time in the auditorium of the army site in Stroe. Nominations can be submitted until 31 December.
The objective of the fund is "Promotion of science and technology in the Netherlands, connected to or arising from defence-oriented functions and tasks, such as ballistics." The fund is managed by the Defence and Security Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI DV).
