Excursion in re-opened High Pressure Lab
Description
To celebrate the recent re-opening of the High Pressure Laboratory (HDL) of the university of Twente, we cordially invite you for an excursion, drinks and a dinner.
The HDL is a unique research-facility in the Netherlands. The HDL was first opened on May 10th 1965 and has recently been renovated and officially re-opened on 15 September 2016. In the eight high pressure boxes, process research under extreme conditions can be facilitated, allowing high temperatures and high pressure experimentation on e.g. hydrogenation of bio oil, hydrothermal liquefaction and supercritical water desalination. A new process hall is constructed for larger, lower pressure pilot plants.
Currently, the majority of the research carried out in the HDL is performed by the sustainable process technology group (former TCCB) chaired by Professor Sascha Kersten.
To show the renovated HDL to interested engineers from NPT (KIVI/KNCV) and alumni of TCCB/SPT an HDL opening celebration will be jointly organised with an alumni day.
The activity will take place on the 29th of October. We will start the day with a welcome reception. Afterwards, four presentations will be given followed by a tour in the new HDL and drinks and dinner to finalize the program.
The event will be held at the room Waaier 3. To know the exact location of the building Waaier, please consult the link (Route and Map) below.
The alumni committee is looking forward to seeing you at the TCCB/SPT alumni day!
