Collaboration in local renewable energy systems, the approach, opportunities and experiences! (recording)

Local energy systems offer opportunities for sustainability despite grid congestion and uncertain energy prices. Within a local energy system, energy consumers and producers cooperate to enable expansion and sustainability of economic activities. This local cooperation requires innovative approaches in terms of organisation, contract arrangements and technical systems. In this webinar, Nick de Wilt shares Windunie's lessons on how to achieve a local sustainable energy system.

Windunie has been active for 20+ years in the development and operation of large-scale locally owned renewable energy with a cooperative approach. Windunie's involvement includes the MOOI Local4Local project and the FREON energy hub initiative in the province of Friesland.

Windunie

Windunie and its members generate a lot of solar and wind energy. We supply the power from our farms to a sustainable energy company and - increasingly - we help build a smart energy system in which local generation and off-take are combined as well as possible. We are involved in providing green power for around one million households. Making a difference together: that is truly Windunie.
