By reducing the charging rate of electric cars in the evening hours, the load on local power grids is significantly reduced. Smart charging reduces the evening charging peak by 35 to 49 per cent. This is evident from a Smart Charging trial by Vattenfall, ElaadNL, Enexis and the provinces of North Brabant and Limburg in six municipalities. What lessons can be learned from this trial?
